Abstract
The article discusses arms-related artifacts recovered from excavations at Fort Johnson and Cantonment Davis in Hancock County, Illinois. According to the article, most of these represents supportive items including gunflints, lead balls, and casting sprue. However, three weapon scabbard belt hooks, where bayonets and short swords were hooked, have also been recovered. The author mentions that bayonets were intended for use in large formations of infantry that delivered musket fire.
