Abstract

This article offers an overview of the main processes of word-formation in Basque. Basque possesses a relatively large number of derivational suffixes. Several types of compounds also enjoy productivity. Some compounds and derived words show the application of complex morphophonological rules. Other types of word-formation are also discussed.
