Abstract

A review is presented of our results in atomic layer-by-layer molecular beam epitaxy (ALL-MBE) deposition of single-crystal thin films of various cuprates, titanates, and manganites, as well as of various heterostructures, multilayer and superlattices, with atomically flat surfaces and interfaces. We have also synthesized novel artificial high-Tc compounds such as BiSr2Ca7Cu8Ox (Bi-1278) and fabricaled the first high-Tc tunnel (SIS) junctions, as well as devices that monolithically integrate high-Tc superconductors, titanate ferroelectrics, and manganite ferromagnets.
