Abstract
In this paper we show that the H ∞ synthesis problem for a class of linear systems with asynchronous jumps can be reduced to a purely discrete-time synthesis problem. The system class considered includes continuous-time systems with discrete jumps, or discontinuities, in the state. New techniques are developed for the analysis of asynchronous time-varying hybrid systems which allow a particularly simple treatment, and provide an elementary proof for the sampled-data H ∞ problem.
