Asymmetric Allylation of Aldehydes with Chiral Lewis Bases

The asymmetric allylation and crotylation of aromatic aldehydes with allylic trichlorosilanes can be promoted by chiral phosphoramides in high yield and modest enantiomeric excess. The reaction likely proceeds via a hexacoordinate siliconate species.
