Abstract

The article offers information on the recovery of artifacts including shell tempered Ramey Incised and Powell Plain ceramics dating to the Lohmann and Stirling phases during excavations at Amy Monroe in the Jersey County, Illinois. The rim is an example of a Powell Plain jar with a marked neck, crushed shell temper, and no intentional lip tooling and obvious decoration.
