Abstract

Various E-plane strip discontinuities are analyzed by the moment method and generalized network analysis technique. By introducing an idea of waveguide in a wide-sense, the effects of the thickness of the strips are taken into account and a unified treatment of such problems is realized. A set of curves of the equivalent circuit parameters for the discontinuities of E-plane strips are given. Two E-plane bandpass filters are designed at W-band. The experimental results agree well with theoretical predictions.
