Abstract

The recently introduced self-tuning Minimax Predictive Controller (MPC) is implemented in real-time on a high fidelity simulation of a fossil fuel heating-cogeneration boiler. The development of the MPC algorithm is outlined in its full multi-input multi-output (MIMO) form. A multi-loop structure of MPC controllers is then applied to a nonlinear real time boiler simulator, and evaluated with respect to standard control schemes.
