An improved synthesis of high-aspect-ratio gold nanorods

Abstract

An improved synthetic methodology that produced monodisperse gold nanorods of high aspect ratio in ∼90% yield was reported. The modified seed-mediated growth method at slightly higher pH enabled to produce gold nanorods. This procedure was readily amenable to scaling up and allowed research group to explore the electronic, optical, catalytic and mechanical properties of highly anisotropic metal nanoparticles with greater ease.
