Abstract

To facilitate collection of serial venous blood samples from miniature swine, an indwelling catheter was developed. Access to the distal end of the catheter was expedited by suturing, to the skin near the cranial angle of the scapula, a zipper pocketed tobacco pouch. For maximum duration of a patent catheter, it should be flushed daily.
