Abstract
The purpose of this letter is to present an analysis of the three-dimensional wind field retrieved from mobile Doppler radar data of the 12 May 2004 Harper, KS tornadoes. The derived three-dimensional vortex structure and its surrounding flow show marked temporal and spatial variability. This has significant implications on the numerical modeling of tornado-scale flow.
