Abstract
Significant progress is possible in the design of concrete shells constructed on air-supported forming. Refinements of construction technique and structural and esthetic design could lead to new architectural and industrial design solutions. As always, safety and reliability, based on sound engineering practice, should guide the design of large-span structures.
