Abstract

Proceedings of the 2001 Airfield Pavement Specialty Conference at the 27th International Air Transportation Conference, held in Chicago, Illinois, August 5-8, 2001. Sponsored by the Airfield Pavement Committee of the Air Transport Division of ASCE. This collection contains 31 papers that report on the state of the art in airfield pavement technology and discuss practical and applied research findings related to all aspects of airfield pavements. Papers cover the planning, design, construction, operation, management, and maintenance of airports including landside, terminal, and airfield issues. Well-documented case studies are included. Topics include: pavement design; pavement materials; construction methods; environmental, operations, and planning concerns; and implications of future aircraft.
