Adaptive optics for single-photon fiber coupling of ions

Abstract

We present a new adaptive-optics technique for the optimization of photon collection from a simulated ion. Our technique uses a genetic algorithm to correct wavefront aberrations via deformable mirror before coupling into a single-mode fiber.
