Abstract

A new adaptive fault tolerant method recently proposed utilizes the natural adaptation of the 1-D least mean square (LMS) adaptive filter to compensate for certain types of hardware failures. In this paper, the method is extended to the 2-D LMS filter to produce the 2-D fault tolerant LMS (FTLMS) algorithm. The results of the implementation are then demonstrated through example.
