Abstract

An interview with Chilean documentary filmmaker Patricio Guzmán is presented. Guzmán discusses the influences his writing career has on his film directing and science fiction magazines, books, and authors that inspire his films. Guzmán also describes character development in his film "Nostalgia for the Light." Guzmán comments on his affection for astronomy and discusses how "Nostalgia for the Light" brought together his main interests of astronomy, science fiction, and writing.
