Abstract

Acunasus DeLong is an exclusive New World genus and endemic to the Mexican territory, comprising 10 species distributed in the western tropical dry and pine/oak forests of the country. In the present work, Acunasus diegoyassiri, from El Salto del Nogal waterfall in the Sierra de Tapalpa and Autlan de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico, is described. The specimens were taken using an entomological net and a modified light trap. The morphological similarities and distribution among species known are discussed.
