Abstract
A simple to build suction electrode system, consisting of a compact holder for the electrode and a syringe for the generation of suction is described and a detailed plan for construction is given. A comparison of results obtained with this system and conventional metal hook electrodes showed no significant differences in amplitude or quality of records. The possibility of making long term recordings without disturbing the preparation is a major advantage of the use of suction electrodes.
