Abstract
The article discusses the discovery of a belt buckle in Champaign County, Illinois which bares the marks of the secessionist Confederate States of America. Topics include a brief history of Champaign County and its role during the Civil War, the noted individuals from the county who participated in the Civil War, and the investigation conducted by the research group Illinois State Archaeological Survey on the origin of the belt buckle.
