Abstract

This panel presentation discusses the research and education efforts of a center-scale project to develop a secure environment for the electric power grid of the future. It involves five universities, numerous companies, and collaboration between electrical engineers, computer engineers, computer scientists, and education specialists. In 2005, this team embarked on an ambitious project to investigate the security and resilience of the cyber infrastructure associated with the existing electric power grid and future expansions. The presentation will give a status update of this work and prospects for future work.
