Abstract
This chapter examines the future of political communication research, reviewing the last three generations of research, which lasted for over ninety years. It then discusses the problem of separating the effects of media, information, and statements from politicians in political communication studies. Finally, the chapter suggests including some previous techniques into the present study of political communication, in order to cover a few gaps in existing research.
