Abstract

This paper discusses a pilot program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to approach the challenges of electronic waste (e-waste) from an interdisciplinary perspective. The elements of the program, from development and teaching of two new courses on the e-waste topic, to research, and a design competition, are explained.
