Abstract

The solution of electromagnetic problems of an ever increasing size is of importance for the design of new products in both the EMI and the EIP (Electrical Interconnect and Package) analysis. Today, conventional techniques do not have the capacity to solve complex heterogeneous problems of a realistic size. In this paper we suggest that partitioning based techniques can be of great help in the solution of EMI problems for realistic computer packages. In particular a systematic methodology is given for the partitioned solution of a realistic computer package structure which involves printed circuit cards as well as the computer enclosure.
