A Multivariate Model for Explaining Gender Differences in Career and Achievement Motivation

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This article reviews findings from several studies investigating a model for explaining gender differences in career and achievement motivation. Findings suggest that the strength of this motivation for women is not unlike that for men. However, the pattern and type of factor influencing motivation for men and women differs significantly. The effect of parent and teacher support on motivation is stronger for women than for men.
