Abstract
The article reports on the case between Michael and Rich Butler and Adoption.com concerning sex discrimination in the U.S. in 2008. The Butlers sued Adoption.com, the biggest Internet adoption site in the U.S., claiming the refusal of posting their profile violated California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. Adoption.com contended that no laws were violated because the company is resided in Arizona, a state which does not prohibit discrimination against people on the basis of marital status.
