A large area monolayer WS2 laser based on surface-emitting heterostructure photonic crystal cavities

Abstract

An optically pumped continuous wave room temperature operation monolayer WS2 laser is presented. The cavity is formed around Γ point above lightline in a large area heterostructure photonic crystal slab for energy efficient surface emission.
