Abstract

We determined nitreat in 267 water samples using ultra-violet (UV) spectrophotomety, ion chromatograpohy, ion chromatography (IC), and ion-selcetive-electrode (ISE) potentiometryu, We analyzed the UV spectra using multi-liner regression (MLR) and numerical differentioation (second denvative[2D[). The nitrar concetrarion determine by both UV methods were very close to those determined by IC. For 30 of the sampless, we also determined nitrate in the field using a colorimetric test kit and visually compared it ot a set of color standards.
