A colored Petri net based architecture for coordination control of flexible manufacturing systems.

Abstract

A system for configuring the systems controller so that it can easily be adapted to changes in the system was developed. Besides allowing for such adaptation, the system captures the concurrency in the flexible manufacturing system, is modular and provides mechanisms for implementing dynamic scheduling and process plans. Coloured Petri nets form the basis of the system developed.
