50 Gb/s Error-Free Data Transmission Using a NRZ-OOK Modulated 850 nm VCSEL

Abstract

We demonstrated 50 Gb/s error-free data transmission with a -3dB bandwidth of 25 GHz at room temperature for an 850 nm oxide-confined VCSEL without using pre-emphasis, equalization, and forward error correction.
