Abstract
The 29 th International Conference on Advanced Ceramics and Composites was held in Florida, the USA, in conjuncture with the Electronic Division of the American Ceramic Society. The theme of the conference comprised 'interdisciplinary Cross-fertilization' during exploration of new areas of science and engineering. The issue of bioceramics and biocomposite systems as an important research area in structural ceramic study was also addressed in the conference. Applications of functional nanoceramics, biomimetics, and ultra-high temperature materials were also discussed in the conference.
