Abstract

A total of 331 Emiquon Preserve hunters were sent a 4-page questionnaire, and we received a total of 148 responses (47%)—141 of which were useable. Hunters reported spending 562 days afield at Emiquon Preserve as compared to 184 in the North Zone, 1910 in the Central Zone, 42 in the South Central Zone, and 19 in the South Zone. A total of 352 mallards and 845 other ducks were harvested at Emiquon Preserve. We discuss hunter expectations and satisfaction with the Emiquon Preserve along with hunter effort and trends for the 2012 duck season.
