N2 - Illinois otter trapping was reinstated for the 2012-2013trapping season; all817persons who receiveda 2012-2013resident Illinois otter registration permitwere mailed a 4-page questionnaire, and we received 641(79%) questionnaires.Trappers set an average of 29traps for an average of 38days or nights during the 2012-2013season.They harvested an average of 2.46otters(Lontra canadensis) each, totaling1,506otters. Participants also harvested27,544raccoons (Procyon lotor),9,851 muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus), and 6,126 beaver (Castor canadensis)during the 2012-2013Illinois trapping season.Sightings of bobcat (Lynx rufus) by trappersand trapper attitudeswere also documented.
