Research Interests

My research seeks to understand the effective management of sport organizations, events, and programs for generating positive social impacts. Positive social impacts encompass an array of intangible benefits, namely: promoting public support for charitable and environmental causes; fostering collective identity and pride; advancing diversity and inclusion; creating social capital; and enhancing health and well-being. My early work revealed the mechanisms that produce these social impact outcomes as people engage with sport organizations, events, and programs. My research line has evolved to understand ways in which sport organizations, events, and programs contribute to population health and well-being.
