Dr. Xu Li is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology program at the Department of Educational Psychology in the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is also a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois and Wisconsin. Xu earned his B.S. in Mathematical Sciences and his M.Ed. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at Beijing Normal University in China. He then moved to the U.S. and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research focuses on the process, outcome, and training in individual and group psychotherapy from multicultural and cross-cultural contexts; and he is interested in using advanced quantitative or statistical methods in psychotherapy research. In his spare time, he loves outdoor nature and is enthusiastic about hiking, camping, and driving in the wilderness.
