Personal profile

Kara Warburton holds a PhD and MA in Terminology and a BA in Translation. She has many years experience working in the terminology, translation, and localization areas for large international organizations and companies. She is also active in standardization activities through ISO Technical Committee 37. She is a frequent publisher and conference speaker particularly about terminology management.

Over her career she has also taught at the university level, as an invited lecturer in Asia and Europe, and a regular lecturer in various universities in Canada.

Creative/Performing Interests

Research interests focus on terminology resources, particularly their management in commercial settings, and their use in extended applications such as computer-assisted translation, controlled authoring, and search engine optimization.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the expert's scholarly documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
