Jin Pennell is a Senior Lecturer and Curriculum Coordinator at Illinois ESL in the Department of Linguistics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She teaches courses on academic writing, business writing, and ITA/pronunciation courses for international students. She also oversees ESL writing curriculum development and provides instructor training and supervision. Before coming to UIUC, she taught English in public schools in her home country, South Korea.
