Emily Harrington's long-term research goal is to develop brief, low-intensity, caregiver-implemented interventions for toddlers with language delays to expand families’ access to timely early intervention supports. Her interests include identifying which caregiver-implemented strategies are most effective in supporting language development across different developmental periods, how these strategies can be integrated into brief interventions and delivered in real-world contexts, and the impact of such interventions on both short- and long-term developmental outcomes for children and their families.
